Ram’s Head, Blue Morning Glory

The color in the art piece is all neutral but the flower to the right is bright blue. The form of the art work is showing dimension in the skull of a ram the form is shown by the shadows. The space is taken up by the bones and the flower. The texture of the bones looks very smooth even in the horns.
The focal point of the artwork is the blue morning glory. I think that the painting is off balance because of the flower. I think that the proportion from the flower and the skull is a little off. From the look of the skull I think it would be very large in real life and morning glories are not very big flowers. The contrast is between the center of the flower and the blue. There is not a pattern in the painting but the movement from the painting starts at the flower and moves to the skull and the horns.
I don’t think that there is really a meaning to the work; I think that she just wanted to paint the skull of a ram. The subject of the work is just bones of a ram head and a morning glory. I don’t think that the colors in this painting really represent anything but they are just the actual colors of the objects. No I don’t think that there is really a clear meaning or reason why she created it.
My thoughts and feelings have not really changed from the beginning. I still think that the painting is kind of pretty but not my favorite. The thing I like best about the artwork is the flower and the thing I dislike the most is that the center of the flower is just a circle and I don’t like that. My overall impression of it is that it’s okay.

The color in this photograph is very unique compared to the other photographs that I've seen on the High website. The color is all black and white except for the small sea-horse in the glass circle in the man's hand. The form I notice in the piece of art is in the glass ball. you can see it is a circle but the reflection of the window in the glass can make you see that it is actually a ball shape. The texture of the artwork is not real. The smoothness of the glass and the roughness of the man is all captured by the person who took the picture. The space in the photograph is taken up by manly the man and then at the bottom you can see the man holding the glass ball.
My focal point on this artwork is the sea-horse. The movement from the focal point throughout the photograph starts at the seahorse then it goes to man finally I notice the pattern on the table. The photograph is balanced but is not symmetrical. The man and the sea-horse balance out the photograph. The proportion of the sea-horse to the man is real but the idea of the sea-horse is still serreal. The contrast from the orange to the black and white makes the seahorse stand out from the rest of the photograph. There is no repitional pattern throughout the photograph but there is a pattern on the table that the man is sitting at.
I don't know what the meaning of the work is but the photograph was taken during 1933 when Breitenbach fleed Germany from Nazis and moved to France. The subject of the work looks very sad and concerned. When Breitenbach took this picture of Max he was probably still concerned for family and friends back in Germany. I think that the black and white in the picture is showing sadness or worry but the bright seahorse could be showing hope from the Nazis. There is not a clear meaning to the photograph but i think the artisit was trying to show that there is still hope even though Germany was going though a rough time.
