Dos Fridas
Dos Fridas, painted by Frida Kahlo in 1939, seems to be a depressed indication of her life. Being that she paints with medium bright colors, the first impression isn't so bad, yet the depiction of her art goes much deeper. Upon researching the painting, the snail lying in the hand of the more modern Frida is to represent the slowness of a miscarriage she had. It doesn't occur to me with such a deep portrait, why the colors aren't dark, but bright. my attention focuses on her cutting the vein between her different personalities. I think the artist is trying to convey her feelings throughout her artwork.
